Cyclone Game!
We went to a Iowa State game last weekend during our trip to Des Moines, they played Nebraska and Brad met some of his buddies from Omaha. This is Jack waiting for the players to walk to the stadium before the game.
We went to the ISU Nebraska game this last weekend. This is Jack before the game waiting for the players to walk to the stadium before the game. He thought he was pretty cool giving them ALL five as they walked by. They were all listening to their headphones and getting pumped up for the game while everyone was saying Go State! and tough guy talk to them!
Our family minus Selah, she had a slumber party with Aunt Lele and the girls and hung out at the Gurwell's during the game, she would not have lasted and had a great time putting on lipstick the whole time from the way it sounds!
Jack Trice Stadium, it really is fun to go back to the games even if they stink!
Jackson tailgating, Daddy got us a bean bag game, Cyclones of course.
The best part was we got to go with Grandma and Grandpa! Jack sat in their good seats for the first half and then I got to for the second half while Grandma played bean bags with Luke (she had enough of the game too) and Jack played catch with Daddy and his friends on the hillside. Sweet for me, even if they lost! It was perfect football weather too by game time.
We got to hang out with Cy too.
He saw Jack had a football and wanted to play catch, are you kidding? Playing catch with Cy and giving high fives to the players is a perfect day for a seven year old!
Cy wasn't a bad football player, maybe they should start him.

The Dells
We went to the Wilderness at the Dells for a long weekend of swimming, here is the family relaxing by the pool! This was by the wave pool which was so fun but no one wanted to use the tubes, just body surf.
They had a climbing area with foam balls in the middle you could shoot at each other with these cannons. Jack was loving this! Luke was climbing and sliding faster than we could keep up, and Selah was collecting balls for her brother!
At Buffalo Phil's, this was after dinner and they were so tired after swimming all day! It was a quiet dinner with all three laying down in the booth.
Luke spent by far most of his time in the water!
He went down this slide more times than I could count. He would come down, get up and go right back up the stairs to wait in line. Then when it was his turn sit down and look up at the lady to say when he could go. Then it would start all over again, and again, and again! Selah even went down this slide, she was pretty brave until we pushed it and went on a family tube ride down a dark and scary ride where you couldn't see what was happening or where you were going. They were all a little more timid after that run, except Luke!
I love Jack with his goggles on!

Luke is 5!
For Luke's birthday we went to the Wilderness up at the Dells, he loves to swim! I set up the room for a Thomas birthday while Brad was swimming with the kids and this is our replacement to my cake wreck! We got the cupcake holder at a silent auction we went to Friday night, just in time for the perfect occasion!
This banner has been used 4 times now!
Luke was super excited to see his Thomas birthday when he got back.
Alright they worked fine, but no one ate anything except the frosting, even me! The rings were cute, although now we have 30 Thomas rings!
Later that day, relaxing by the pool! More pictures from swimming tomorrow, I need to get unpacked we leave again on Thursday for Des Moines! Happy Birthday Luke, we love you!

My Own Cake Wreck!
This weekend on Saturday we are leaving for the Dells to celebrate Luke's birthday there, he is not exactly into parties! So last night I made Luke's cake because Brad and I have a banquet tonight and we are leaving right after Jack's game on Saturday. Luke told me what he wanted, a mountain with the track and Thomas going over a bridge. Great, I thought this will be easy BUT I got some "healthier" frosting at the store thinking it would be better for the kids to frost the cake with. Not even an hour after frosting it I came up and saw the frosting starting to slide a little down. I hoped for the best and went to bed. This is what it looked like this morning! Whoa, what is this stuff made of?
The trees can't even stay on the cake, the bridge fell and the fish is going fast! How horrifying for Luke if Thomas tumbled off the mountain right in front of him! I think for the first time since Jack was two we will be buying a cake from the store for a birthday! Live and learn, don't use the healthy no trans fat frosting when you are making a cake! Sorry Lukey! Miss Bekah just told me she thinks they have Thomas cupcakes at Sam's club!

The Pumpkin Patch
These are some pictures from the pumpkin patch we went to last weekend, do you like Brad's face? Here I smile nice and that is his face, Jack took our picture!
So our kids played with these forever! What is it with water? I guess they would have had this chore if we were settlers!
They had a giant slide this year too, a little bumpy but pretty fun!
This was pretty cool too!
Selah picked out a green one she thought was pretty!
They all found the perfect one!
Pull Daddy, Pull!
The corn maze was pretty sweet, you had to answer questions about Minnesota and if you got it right you went the short way and wrong was the long way! It wasn't easy, we were glad to get lost though at first Luke had to go potty and the lines for the spot a pot were way too long!
Jack really loved this one!
