Layken's Photo Shoot

Last weekend Leah and I were at our homeschooling conference and on Saturday my Mom had all of the kids.  Layken documented all of their shenanigans!
I love Jude's face in this picture.
Mom still looks okay!
Then on Father's day we went to an Iowa Cubs game and Layken took over the camera for me again while I held Tucker.
This random kid jumped in for the picture with Cubbie Bear
Jude waited patiently for an autograph.
Trouble!
Layken, you did a great job, I am only sad there are no pictures of you!

Branson Days 3 & 4

Swimming, Basketball, and Ping Pong
The game got fierce.
This was the big match between Brad and Jaysson, both with extensive ping pong experience.  Jaysson walked away the winner.
Jack and Levi kept score by holding up their hands like this, they didn't understand why Layken and I thought it was so funny.... what?
Selah and Jude washing the pool.
Jack's ping pong brackets, of course there was a tournament.
Another afternoon at Silver Dollar City, I'm glad I missed this ride, they came out soaked!
The last night we did some pirate mini golf, and it wouldn't be vacation without one of these pictures!

Trip to Branson Days 1 and 2

Last week we went to Branson with my family for a few days.  A few days was not enough, it is a really fun place for families.

At the Dixie Stampede dinner show you couldn't take pictures inside of the show but Selah loved all of the Belles of the south and Jack had fun cheering on the Northern soldiers against the South.  Luke thought they were the North and South poles and got very upset when the North would win.
We also went to the fish hatchery, Tucker just woke up from a nap.

Then on to Silver Dollar City!

This is the log ride that Selah went down with Brad, Jaysson, Layken, and Ainsley.

This next picture is blurry but it shows Selah with a smile still on her face!

 Did they like it?

Luke even got to ride a train, here is him and Jude waiting for it to come.

All aboard!

After our busy days we spent the night swimming and playing ping pong, I will post days 3 and 4 next.

Memorial Day at Living History Farms

This weekend we hung out at home, Brad is on call this coming week so we instead of going somewhere we camped in the backyard, played kickball, went swimming, and did a little yardwork.  We tried out our hot pocket campfire contraptions and made dinner outside too, they worked pretty sweet.
I don't know what the thumbs up was all about but they kept doing it for every picture.
Then yesterday for Memorial Day we went to Living History Farms, I wish we would have put a little sundress on Selah, her "friends are forever, boys are whatever" t-shirt didn't look as cute as a sundress would have with the 1875 surroundings.
They had a parade and a mock funeral for a fallen soldier and a memorial service at the cemetary for all of the United States soldiers we have lost, it was really good.
Tucker did pretty good in the backpack for his first time.
They also had an old time baseball game with 1875 rules, no gloves! Jack can tell you all of the other differences.
Selah lost interest in the game and came to sit in the shade with me and Tuck to pick flowers.
This lady actually shot the Luke with milk all the way to where they were watching!  He didn't know if he thought it was funny at first or not.
Love the farm.
In the schoolhouse Jack did some spelling words and lessons on the slateboard.

I love this time in United Stated history.  I would have most likely died in childbirth and been miserable with no allergy medication.... but other than that I think I would have loved living during this time!  Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend!
