This weekend we hung out at home, Brad is on call this coming week so we instead of going somewhere we camped in the backyard, played kickball, went swimming, and did a little yardwork. We tried out our hot pocket campfire contraptions and made dinner outside too, they worked pretty sweet.
Then yesterday for Memorial Day we went to Living History Farms, I wish we would have put a little sundress on Selah, her "friends are forever, boys are whatever" t-shirt didn't look as cute as a sundress would have with the 1875 surroundings.
They had a parade and a mock funeral for a fallen soldier and a memorial service at the cemetary for all of the United States soldiers we have lost, it was really good.
They also had an old time baseball game with 1875 rules, no gloves! Jack can tell you all of the other differences.
Selah lost interest in the game and came to sit in the shade with me and Tuck to pick flowers.
This lady actually shot the Luke with milk all the way to where they were watching! He didn't know if he thought it was funny at first or not.
Love the farm.
In the schoolhouse Jack did some spelling words and lessons on the slateboard.
Missy, your pictures get better all the time. I really love these photos. I love the way the light falls on your babies!
ReplyDeleteWe stayed at home too for Memorial Day. It actually was a relief to not have a schedule. Your "Living History Farm" reminds me of Old World Wisconsin. I went there all the time as a kid and loved it.
