Twins Game

On Saturday Brad took the boys to a Twins game for Jack's birthday, fun boy time! They made it all the way to the 6th inning and it was a really good game with a home run in the 1st inning! Luke was all about snacks and also got his own Twins cap. We met them at the mall of America for dinner at the Rainforest Cafe 5 hours after they dropped us off there, and Selah and I were still shopping! She really is a great shopper, she would even tell me everything looked too big when I was trying things on, good girl! Or she will say "is this cute mama? Oh that is cute mama, I like that!" So funny!

Jack is Seven!

Jackson turned seven this week and we had a medieval jousting tournament at our house with all of Jack's friends! This cake was really fun to make and he loved it. We had a water slide and a slip and slide set up out back for them to do most of the party, 20 minutes into the party a thunderstorm rolled in! So we did cake and presents first. It was still raining so we had a single elimination jousting tournament in the living room! I was originally not going to have this ( a little violent?) but I had nothing else for this many kids to do! And it turned out to be Jack's favorite part of the party! They each got a sheild with their family crest on it to protect themselves from the pool noodle sword! Brad and I got this for Jack, Selah and Luke are loving this too. I can't believe he is seven!

Thomas!

We went to see Thomas this weekend too! Of course the date was right after all of our traveling but Luke was still all fired up to go! I can't believe he still loves Thomas this much! He was freaked out by Sir Thopham hat but those guys are always a little scary in costumes. Whats wrong with having a real bald round man walk around in a tuxedo? Do you like Jack's outfit? Camo shirt, Viking shorts and socks with sandals. When did I stop caring? I can't remember. Luke looks cute, even if his shirt is old school Thomas! We rode in Clarabel,we started off down on the bottom level but ended up moving up to the top. Jack and Selah about fell asleep during the ride, not Luke!

Trip to Ankeny

Next we went to Ankeny, I love this picture, Layken is playing teacher with these three, look at their faces. This picture is priceless! Jack gave up on school shortly, then Ainsley. Layken was a little annoyed but went on with her last good student. Of course we went to the Iowa State fair to see the butter cow and Shawn Johnson in butter, and visited the cyclone booth just to get these sweet hats! Do you see baby Jude behind Cy's arm? Luke watched these ducks go down this slide forever, it was really funny, they just kept coming back for more! Selah is an animal lover like her mommy! She kept just wanting to get in with all of the animals and couldn't understand why she couldn't, I remember thinking that same thing why were all the gates there? Jackson got a cake early so he could celebrate with Grandpa Ken and Grandma Lois, perfect theme for the cake!
Jack had golf camp with his cousins. We have not found a sport he doesn't love. Brad admits Jack now hits straighter than he does. Then I had my friend Laura come for lunch so we could see her new baby and catch up. Yes, I invited my friend with her 5 sweet kids to my parents while we had mine and my sister's 4 that we were watching. Are you counting? My Mother loves that I play hostess and use her house! We had pizza on the patio and got to meet baby Moses! We also got to catch up and see how Quinlan, Brinkley, Eden (with Selah), and Boaz were growing, it was crazy and a lot of fun!

Winterset Trip

For our next adventure we went to Winterset to babysit Jude while Leah had a class. Luke loves going there not only to see the cousins but Uncle Jays always makes a fire! Leah doesn't want us to get one at our new house so it can be Luke's special thing at their house! We got to babysit Jude all day! He is so cute I could eat his face off! I had a lot of help, we even were able to walk to the park for a picnic lunch, all the way across town! Of course it is small town Winterset but I am so out of the baby mode I forgot the diaper bag! When we ate Ainsley prayed for me that Jude wouldn't poop!

Mankato

We went to stay with Brad while he was working in Mankato for the weekend just thinking we would hang out at the hotel. Little did we know the Vikings training camp was there that weekend! Jack actually got to go to the kids camp on a real football field! This is no small event by the way, I wanted to take a picture of the line we waited in to get in but Selah wouldn't give up the camera, and I felt weird taking a picture of a line! Jack has now officially switched to football as the favorite sport in the backyard.

Trip to See Mollie

We are home after traveling for the last 2 weeks! We met Mollie and her girls Cece and Elle last week in Okaboji. I love meeting them, and this time was so fun because it was in Okaboji! Mollie's girls are getting so big and it is especially fun to see Selah with them. Notice the sassy look Selah has with Elle at the pool. Mollie coached that one! We had a nutty bar and hung out at Arnolds Park and then swam and did birthdays at the hotel.
