Boysens visit

The Boysens came to visit us for a few days during the boy's spring break.  It was so nice to see them and hang out together.  Tucker was happy to meet them all!  It is bittersweet to have these visits with friends, we love seeing them but it makes us miss them more!
Brady and Sam were great with Tucker
Jack was happy to play so many sports!  The Boysen boys also share a love of brackets like Jack.
Tucker was watching and learning.

We tried a bonfire twice but it was either too wet or windy, next time.

Tucker loves Miss Tami!
Thank you guys so much for spending part of your spring break with us, we had so much fun!
You are welcome any time!

The Boysen's Visit

Last weekend we also had our friends from Minnesota the Boysen's over on Sunday. How lucky is Jack that so many of his friends got to be here to celebrate his birthday! Jack got a marshmallow shooter from Brady and Sam, clearly he loves it.
They tricked him by first having him open up a package of marshmallows, actually he was pretty excited about that too!
All of these crazy boys (and Selah) on the trampoline!
Jack was so happy to be able to spend the day with Brady and Sam playing wiffleball, basketball, and football and me and Selah got to catch up with Miss Tami, perfect for everyone. I hope they slept well on the way home, thanks for coming you guys we miss you!

Mollie and the Girls

Mollie and the girls are in Iowa for a few weeks and they also came for a visit last week for a few days. They live in Phoenix and we don't get to see them very often and we were excited they were coming to see us at the new house! I REALLY wanted a picture to document Cece and Elle's first bonfire and this is the best I could get. (Monica I need help with my new lens!) These city girls really weren't real impressed with the fire and even less with the lightning bugs! I think they just needed more time in the "country" to get used to it.
Because they both have birthdays in July I made a berry poke cake for them to have while they were here. I LOVE their pretty hair in the low light. They are one of the few girls I have seen that have hair blonder than Selah. Mollie says everyone asks in Phoenix if they're from Norway! No just Iowa.
Everyone having a Popsicle after the slip and slide.
The two oldest Cece and Jack, would you believe she just turned six and Jack is about to turn eight? Brad noticed they are already leaning apart trying to get away from each other, I guess that time of girls and boys playing separate has come! His game the whole time they were here was to hide from all of the girls and then jump out and scare them so they screamed. They did... a lot!
The three little ones. Cece and Elle LOVED the trampoline, it's so hard to get pictures of that though!
We watched a few shows from downstairs that they put on for us through the railing upstairs. Selah loved that they love to do shows, she was in girl heaven for a few days and I was so glad to get the chance to catch up with Mollie while the kids played. It was a very laid back couple of days just hanging out at the house AND sweet Mollie helped me after I got sick one of the days, only your best friends do that and don't run for the door! I loved having them here but maybe next time we can visit them in Arizona... in February!

BBQ with the Pollaks

Now that we are settled friends are starting to visit us at our new home, it was so great the other night when the Pollaks came for a BBQ. I was SO ready to see friends this week and we had a great time with Laura and Greg and all the kids. Quinlan, Brinkley, Eden, Boaz and Moses! Of course we had to have a fire for the occasion and some "smokes" that is what Selah calls s'mores.
Laura got the biggest marshmallows I have ever seen, and Selah was more than happy to try them out!
That is sweet Laura in the background, she has been such a good friend to me since Jr. High...... and in college, and in Des Moines (1st time), and they moved to Omaha for a bit, and she was such a great friend and support to me long distance while I was in Rochester too. I thank God for her and glad to be near her again.
This is Brinkley and Moses, she was hiding in the grass and would jump out at Moses. He had that great baby giggle every time.
Here she comes again!
All the kids (except the baby) on the swing set, they all posed for me. Thanks for coming out guys, we had a great time please come again soon!

Our Going Away BBQ

We are officially in Iowa now....... well I am here, the kids are at Brad's parents, and Brad is working until Friday but we do now own a house in Iowa.
Last weekend before we left my sweet neighbor Tami hosted a BBQ for us at her house and I wanted to post some of the pictures.Selah was all over, she talked with the babies, the mommies, played ball with the boys, swung on the swing set, played in the sandbox, she loved the party!  That afternoon Brady and Gavin were watching her for me (sweet boys, they even helped Brad load furniture!) and she went over to Tami's for a little while.  She told Tami she was coming to her party that night and Tami said "Selah, the party is for you!"  Well then she was even more excited!
This is a picture of Brad and me watching a video of photos (to very sweet music) that Monica made of pictures she has taken of our family while we have lived here.  I was crying my face off by the end of it!  Can you believe it even ended with "Friends are friends forever"?  There were pictures of how much my kids have changed and all the awesome things we loved about the neighborhood.  Thank you Monica, that really was priceless to me.  They even all signed a frame with a picture she took of our family, we are so lucky we made such good friends here.
Luke and Gabe in the sandbox, Lukey had a good night too with a break in the middle to play with Tami's trains downstairs. Jack doing what he loves most. All of the kids, and they were all even looking!  Jack, Luke, and Selah have grown to love these kids.   L-R  front - Kaden, Gabe, Sam, Jack, Selah, Zane, L-R back - Matthew, Brady, Gavin, Hudsen, Luke, and Calvin
A friendly game of football broke out, until I looked over and saw Jeremy Shana's husband taking out Brad.  A little competition never hurts right?
My sweet friends! L-R  Miss Bekah first with Micah (she is sweet, loves the Lord and it so radiates out of her, an inspiration for me as a mommy, and has become so important to me!), then Miss Tami (she is full of awesome information I needed with three boys who also love sports, always a huge support for me, encouraging, and the best backyard neighbor I could ever have!), me, Miss Monica (an great artist, so thoughtful, super generous, I cannot tell you how many signs she has given me, not to mention groceries! And to live next door to a family who has another 7 year old boy who loves most of what Jack does has been such a blessing), Miss Resa (my walking partner!  So many discussions on our walks that somehow ends up with one or both of us crying, what is our deal?  Any way, I will miss them!), and Miss Shana with Addie (Fellow Iowa girl!  As much as I wished she lived in the neighborhood while I did I loved hanging out the times we could, and I'll see you in Spirit Lake right?)  Thanks everyone so much from all of us, we will miss you but please come visit!

The end of our homeschooling year!

The DuMonds had a few homeschool families out last night for a BBQ, bonfire, and fun hanging out together. The mommies for a picture all together, Bekah, Jill, me and Karmen... I will miss these sweet friends and all of their support so much.
The graduation 1st grade class! Maria, Jack, and Calvin
Selah roasting her marshmallows, one for her smore and one for me.
All of the kids, minus poor Grace who was home sick. They were all running in the woods playing until 10:00!
This is so cute, really I can't even handle it they are so sweet!
Wade and Bekah have a three man slingshot for the boys that kept the dads and kids busy for quite a while launching water balloons....fun!
It was such a fun night spending time with friends, I think we will maybe drive from Iowa for next year's party it was such a good time. Thank you Wade and Bekah for having us out, while your house is on the market and you have a newborn baby!
