Letter boxing

Yesterday for a field trip we met Miss Laura and her kids to go letter boxing. It's like a scavenger hunt for a box (or jar) someone has hidden somewhere and left clues for. We had clues for two different boxes at Brown's woods so we set out with all of the kids on a hike into the forest. Laura brought a sheet with animal tracks to identify. Jack found lots of raccoon and maybe a mink?
There were lots of streams to explore and get muddy in.
And to completely fall into, they were all such a mess by the end of the day, especially Boaz but he could not have been happier about it.
Jack with the jar that we did find, it has a pad and a stamper in it. You stamp in their notepad and use their stamp for your notepad so you can keep track of all of the letterboxes you find. We had clues for two but only found one yesterday.
This was the fallen tree the clue was hidden in.
The search team. Thanks Pollak kids, we had a great time and I think my bathtub will recover eventually.
